My Photo

Definition

  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

NYC snaps

I heart Olmsted and Vaux

Angel fountain

Natasha in heaven

The top two photos are to express my love for Olmsted and Vaux. The bottom is Natasha in Mood Fabrics. She bought herself some fabric to make a summer dress. More photos here.

the first one looks so much like a postcard!

Great shots, Claire! Right away, I'm thinking...When can I get there, when can I get there, when can I get there....

I swear, I have a disease.

And I agree with silverdale. The top shot *does* look like a postcard.

I think I sat on the bench on the left last summer, reading a book, early on a Sunday morning.

Mood Fabrics!!! I want to see Tim behind her asking her if she's sure that fabric won't bore Nina!

Boy, have you got a good eye, Claire!

You also appear to have a camera that I now covet.

Very nice. Hey, speaking as a Nikon FM-2 user, what method do you use to put your film shots on the computational device?

Your photography skills always amaze me. While they are all fabulous, I really love the park picture.

And Natasha, you must photograph the dress when it is finished.

Claire, the photos are extremely nice and documentary and creative!
